AssetCheck™ Forecasts Microsoft and Adobe Volume License 'True-up' Costs up to 9 Months in the Future

Not only can AssetCheck forecast 'true up' costs on any product up to 9 months in the future, AssetCheck can also identify potential cost-savings of deploying 'older' licenses in order to reduce - or eliminate - 'renewal' fees

Ottawa, Canada (PRWEB) December 8, 2010

AssetLabs announces the inclusion of license ‘true-up’ forecasting in AssetCheck, allowing customers to predetermine their upcoming license fees of software vendor's multi-year volume license agreements (VLA) , such as Microsoft’s ‘enterprise’ agreements. AssetCheck is the web-based license analysis service that works with Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) & other leading network management and PC inventory products.

By analyzing the historical ‘growth’ patterns of software titles, AssetCheck can forecast future inventory counts and immediately determine if a product will be ‘over-deployed’ on their license renewal date. AssetCheck also identifies ‘true-up’ cost savings by simulating the deployment times of unused ‘older’ licenses, thus drastically reducing or eliminating true-up costs.

“AssetCheck’s true-up forecasting now empowers SAM teams to bring budgeting and cost-avoidance value to the CFO”, says Steve O’Halloran, CEO of AssetLabs. “For too long, internal license audit was a last-minute requirement to quantify the ‘hunch’ that money was owed to the software vendor. With AssetCheck, license cost analysis is now a weekly report that the SAM team can deliver to the management team so that software costs can be under continuous budget review.”

With a 270,000 software title library, AssetCheck can normalize and categorize SCCM software inventory data in less than an hour. AssetCheck categorization includes ISO19970-2 congruent license type categories, allowing customers to discriminate line-of-business applications from non-commercial software, and to identify whether their business software requires volume licensing, single licensing, or are components of a larger suite. AssetCheck also identifies 'end of support' deadlines for Microsoft & Adobe products, as well as identifying P2P apps, games, malware and other software that is considered harmful or undesirable in commercial environments.

“Within days, AssetCheck empowers our clients to clearly identify their license entitlement position”, says Mike Austin, Director of Software Solutions at OnX Enterprise Solutions, a Microsoft Large Account Reseller (LAR). “With AssetCheck’s license ‘true-up’ forecasting, OnX clients can proactively budget for software deployments as well as optimizing their previous investments in legacy licenses.”

Pricing & Partners
AssetCheck - priced at $1 (or less) per PC per month - is currently available from Microsoft LARs (Large Account Resellers) including Compucom, Dell, OnX Enterprise Solutions, En Pointe Technologies, and other SAM Partners.
