AssetLabs launches AssetCheck™; license & risk analysis web-service for Microsoft

AssetLabs, a leading provider of IT Asset Management web services, announces the public availability of AssetCheck, a web-based license analysis service for Microsoft’s System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) & Systems Management Server (SMS) that can determine – in an hour or less – a corporation’s license, support & upgrade position for software from Microsoft, Adobe, Symantec, and other leading vendors.

AssetCheck reduces the time and effort of license analysis by introducing ISO 19970-2 compliant license-type categories, allowing customers to discriminate line-of-business applications from non-commercial software, and to identify whether their business software require volume licensing, single licensing, or are components of a larger suite.

AssetAugment: Automatic data normalization.

AssetCheck’s built-in data normalization technology – AssetAugment- automatically transforms SCCM & SMS inventory data into business-based productline-trees that seamlessly align with Microsoft’s Enterprise and Select agreements. For each software title found, AssetAugment will:

  •     Fix variations in publisher's names, software titles and versions
  •     convert foreign language titles
  •     map historical vendor acquisitions (i.e. Macromedia to Adobe)
  •     update historical changes of product names (i.e. FrontPage to Sharepoint Designer)

AssetCheck identifies budgeting & support risks by determining ‘end of support’ deadlines for many Microsoft & Adobe products. AssetCheck’s 250,000+ title engine also identifies security and productivity risks by identifying P2P applications, games, malware and other software that is considered harmful or undesirable in commercial environments.

For a limited time, AssetCheck is available at the flat price of $ 3,500 USD / £2,200 GBP for an initial 3-month subscription, with no limit on the number of PCs owned by the customer.
